Account & Data Deletion
Relief Care lets you delete your account and associated data at any time.
How to delete your account
In the app (fastest):
- Open the Relief Care app and sign in.
- Go to Profile → Profile Management.
- Tap Delete Account.
- Confirm when prompted.
Your account is deleted immediately. This cannot be undone.
By email:
If you can’t access the app, email support@reliefcare.com from the email address registered to your account and ask us to delete it. We respond within 30 days.
What is deleted
When you delete your account, we permanently remove:
- Your login and authentication credentials
- Your profile and personal information (name, date of birth, phone number, address, and — for Care Givers — professional licence and certification details)
- Business details, where applicable (registration and tax numbers, banking and contact information)
- Any documents and photos you uploaded, including identification and verification documents
- Your job applications
- Your subscription records
- Your notifications
Your user record is anonymized — your name and contact details are permanently erased and replaced with a placeholder.
What is retained, and why
Some records must be kept even after account deletion, for legal, financial, and safety reasons:
- Payment and transaction records — retained to meet Canadian tax and financial record-keeping obligations (including the Income Tax Act and Excise Tax Act), and for dispute resolution and fraud prevention. Payment records are also held by our payment processor, Stripe, under its own retention requirements.
- Shared conversation history — messages exchanged with another user are retained as part of that other person’s record.
- Job postings you interacted with — the posting remains, but your connection to it is removed.
These records no longer identify you by name or contact information.
